Loyal, courageous, and intelligent, the German Shepherd Dog is a very special breed. They are one of America's most popular dog breeds, and are used in the police and military service, for search and rescue, as guide dogs, and as a faithful companion. German Shepherds are also known as Alsatians in the United Kingdom, and Schäferhund in their native Germany.
This colorful and expressive acrylic painting of a German Shepherd Dog was painted by artist Rebecca Wang. The traditionally tan areas of this dog were painted with bright warm colors, such as red, orange and yellow. The black areas were painted with dark blues and purples. The background is a blend of lighter blues and purples, which complement the cool tones in the dog and provide contrast for the oranges and yellows.
