A colorful and expressive Golden Retriever dog, painted with acrylic paints on board. I used bright rainbow colors to portray this dog portrait. Red, orange, yellow, purple, magenta, and blue make this portrait vibrant and almost glowing, against a teal and blue background.
Golden retrievers are among the most popular dog breeds. Originally bred as gun dogs, this friendly and intelligent breed also serve as guide dogs, assistance and therapy, search and rescue, as well as popular pets. Their long fur is dense and water repellent, and comes in a whole range of yellow colors, from very pale yellow to dark golden, and can even have a reddish mahogany tint to their fur. Golden retrievers originated in Scotland in the 19th century. There are three subtypes of Golden: American, Canadian, and British. They differ in appearance, with the British type being more stocky than the American type. The Canadian type tends to have darker and thinner hair.
